HONOLULU, HI - Kahala Associates is proud to announce that owner-associate Scott Startsman has been selected as a 2011 Pacific Business News’ “Forty Under 40” Award Winner. Mr. Startsman was selected from a pool of talented young professionals in Hawai’i who possess leadership, dedication to their industry and commitment to serving the greater community. The awardees were recognized on Thursday, June 16th during an awards presentation at the Hawai’i Convention Center.
Mr. Startsman is the youngest fully vested owner-associate of Kahala Associates, serves on the Kahala Associates’ Board of Directors and chairs the company’s technology committee. He is also President of the Diamond Head Hillside AOAO Board of Directors.
Prior to becoming a co-owner of Kahala Associates, Mr. Startsman was a multi-million dollar producing real estate agent on Hawaii’s Big Island. His clients have nominated him for the prestigious “Aloha Aina Award” every year from 2005 through 2011 in recognition of his outstanding client care.
Since Scott started working for Kahala Associates in 2005, his passion and drive for constant improvement has led him to become their Technology Committee Chairman as well as a leader and mentor for other agents at Kahala Associates. Scott has been the driving force and the visionary that has led Kahala Associates to be at the forefront of technology. His visionary goal for Kahala Associates has not only caused us to streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and elevate customer service but to enable all of us to work better, faster and from anywhere in the world. Indeed, Scott has enhanced the company’s overall production through integrated strategic marketing and technology programs. This is no small task, as this involves not only having the vision but allocating a budget, performing the product research, testing and selecting the right products, overseeing the implementation of products, organizing meetings, training, creating company operating systems and implementing those systems seamlessly, not to mention handling emergency calls at all times when something doesn’t work quite as planned. He has also been instrumental in the firms Internet initiatives and the incorporation of social media into their web presence including a YouTube Channel, Facebook marketing, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more. He is also instrumental in increasing the company’s website traffic and company exposure through the use of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies.
In addition, Scott serves as President of Diamond Head Hillside Board of Directors. Scott, who has served as President for the past five years has helped decrease the annual expenses by 15% and increased the Association reserve funds by more than 250%. Furthermore, Scott has helped to create a clear vision and plan for the building and ultimately helping to increase the property values. He has established a clear vision for the major projects that will be needed to be completed in the future. Prior to being elected President, Scott served as the Board’s Treasurer.
